STATE LEVEL TOURNAMENTS IN ADAPTED SPORTS (RKMV TROPHY)

In Commemoration of 125th year of Ramakrishna Mission & 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence, (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav). Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Faculty of General & Adapted Physical Education and Yoga organized a “STATE LEVEL TOURNAMENTS IN ADAPTED SPORTS (RKMV TROPHY)” for Persons with Disabilities on 14th and 15th August, 2022.
This tournament for persons with disabilities was organized under five categories namely
- Para Sitting Volleyball
- Cricket for Visually Impaired
- Kabaddi for Hearing Impaired
- Volleyball for Visually Impaired
- Football for Intellectually Challenged
In the Inaugural Function, Dr. G. S. Sameeran IAS, District Collector, Coimbatore District was the Chief Guest who declared the “Adapted Sport Tournaments Open” in the presence of Swami Garishthanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya and administrative Head, RKMVERI Coimbatore Campus.

In the Valedictory Function Rtn. K. Palaniappan, Former President, Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis was the Chief Guest, Swami Tadbhasanandaji Maharaj, Correspondent, SRMV Polytechnic College presided over the function, Rtn. CA M. Bhaskar, Secretary, Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis, Rtn. R. Tharun, Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis were the Special Invitees who distributed the Trophies, Certificates and Cash Prize to the Winners.
Children with Disabilities from Faculty of Disability Management and Special Education and Vidyalaya Printing Press honored the teams with medals and mementoes. The mementoes presented to the players were prepared from the Vocational Unit of RKMVERI – Faculty of Disability Management and Special Education.
