Inauguration and Objectives:
The Balamandhir Summer Camp was held at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya from 2nd May 2024 to 11th May 2024. The program was inaugurated by Swami Tadbhasananda on 2nd May 2024. Dr. T. Thangamani elucidated the objectives of the camp, which aimed to provide a holistic learning experience for children aged from 3rd standard to 5th standard. Approximately 64 students from various schools participated in the program, fostering a diverse learning environment.
Activities and Resource Persons:
The camp encompassed a wide array of activities aimed at nurturing both intellectual and physical faculties of the attendees. Distinguished resource persons guided the participants through each activity, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience. The schedule was meticulously crafted to cover various aspects of personal, moral, and cultural development.
Prayers and Patriotism: Swami Buddhidananda and Sri P. Rajavel enlightened the participants on the benefits of prayer and instilled patriotic values.
Yoga and Traditional Games: Miss R. Uma Devi, Miss R. Girija, Dr. V. Balamurugan, and Sri A. Ganesan facilitated sessions on yoga and traditional games, promoting physical well-being and cultural heritage.
Cultural Enrichment: Sessions on Vishnu Sahasranamam, Sivapuranam, and values from Indian Puranas were conducted by Smt. Vijayalakshmi, Smt. Sheela Devi, and Swami Narayanananda, fostering spiritual and cultural awareness among the participants.
Educational Insights: Swami Harinathananda, Smt. Geetharani, and Sri Ramarajan provided insights into the lives of notable figures like Swami Vivekananda and Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishnar, along with educational activities like drawing and handwriting.
Environmental Awareness and Life Skills: Dr. J.B. Chandrasekar, Dr. S. Alagesan, and Dr. S. Sivasankar imparted knowledge on environmental protection, life skills, and handicrafts, nurturing a sense of responsibility towards society and personal development.
Valedictory Function:
The camp concluded with a grand valedictory function on 11th May 2024. Swami Garishthananda Maharaj, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, presided over the function, imparting words of wisdom and encouragement to the participants. Prizes were distributed to acknowledge the efforts and achievements of the attendees, marking the successful culmination of the Balamandhir Summer Camp.
The Balamandhir Summer Camp not only provided a platform for learning but also fostered camaraderie, cultural understanding, and personal growth among the young participants. It stands as a testament to the commitment of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya towards holistic education and character development.
