College Level Elocution Competitions

In commemoration of 125^th Anniversary of Ramakrishna Mission and 75^th Anniversary of Indian Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) Celebrations College Level Elocution Competitions were conducted by Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science on 30 August 2022 at the unaided wing of the college. The competitions were conducted in both Tamil and English. A total of 131 participants from 32 colleges in and around Coimbatore districts participated in the competitions. Totally, 91 participants contested in Tamil, and 40 participants contested in English.

The Tamil Elocution Competition was judged by Rev. Swami Narayanananda, Dr. T. Balamurugan, Dr. R. Gokul, Dr. D. Rajakumar, Dr. C. R. Sakthivel, and Dr. R. Moorthy. The English Elocution Competition was judged by Rev. Swami Baktivratananda, Prof. M. Rajivgandhi, and Prof. B. Muthukumar.

At the end of the competitions, the participants were provided with lunch on the premises. It was followed by the Valedictory Function which was presided by Rev. Swami Nirmaleshananda, Secretary, Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, and Rev. Swami Anapekshananda, Dr. R. Thangavel, Principal of the college, Dr. R. Sridhar, Director of the Unaided Wing of the college, and Dr. K. Kandappan, Dean, Student Support Services were present on the occasion. Five participants were declared winners in both Tamil and English Elocution Competitions and they were presented certificates and cash prizes.

The Elocution Competitions were organised with the help of the faculties in the Departments of Languages in the unaided wing and student volunteers. The whole competitions were coordinated by Dr. R. Abimanyu, Assistant Professor of Tamil and Prof. K. Nandhakumar, Assistant Professor of English in Tamil and English respectively.
