In commemoration of Swami Vivekananda’s historic visit to Tamil Nadu, our college organized the Inter-Vidyalaya Yoga Competition, ‘Arise Awake Day,’ on 03.02.2025, at GKD Auditorium. Dr. T. Jayabal, Principal, delivered the welcome address. Swami Tadbhashanandaji Maharaj, Assistant Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, presided over the function and honored the winners with medals, certificates, and prizes. Dr. T. Thangamani, Assistant Professor, delivered the vote of thanks.
This competition was part of an initiative titled ‘Experiential Learning through Yoga Teaching Programme for PG Teacher Trainees,’ designed for first-year MPEd students. As part of their training, these students trained school, post-matric, and college-level students residing in the Vidyalaya hostel throughout the year. The first round of the yoga competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 1,088 students across the three categories. From this pool, 120 students advanced to the final round, while 500 students attended as spectators, cheering for the participants and drawing inspiration from their performances.
