SKILL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

The Vidyalaya has been imparting skill training activities since 1951 through our various technical institutions viz.

Industrial Training Institute, Polytechnic College, Community Development through Polytechnic Scheme, and DDU-Kaushal Kendra of College of Arts and Science.

To optimise the available skilling facilities and resources in Vidyalaya campus, and to inculcate the importance of learning at least a skill among students and staff, a Skill Development Committee is functioning in Vidyalaya.

Some of the Skill Development activities carried out are:

  1. Basic Electrical and simple wiring training were imparted to 27 students of College of Arts and Science from 18.09.2018 to 22.09.2018.
  2. Fundamentals of Electrical Appliances training were imparted to 3 students of RKMVERI-FDMSE from 23.04.2018 to 23.05.2018.
  3. Kitchen Garden training was imparted to 6 children with Intellectual Disability, who visits our RKMVERI-FDMSE therapy units. They had nurtured the plants very well, and vegetables grown out of these plants were utilized.
  4. Two wheeler Servicing training were imparted to 60 students ( 2 batches) of RKMVERI-GAPEY from 27.08.2018 to 31.08.2018.
  5. Nutrition Garden training was conducted to 60 parents of children with Intellectual disabilities, who visit our RKMVERI-FDMSE therapy units on 23.02.2019. This had enabled them to grow nutritious vegetables utilizing the water, which they waste.
  6. Refrigeration and Washing Machine maintenance training were imparted to 4 staff members of College of Arts and Science (Aided) on 08.02.2019.
  7. Refrigeration and Washing Machine maintenance training were imparted to 5 staff members of College of Arts and Science (Aided) on 13.02.2019.
  8. Refrigeration and Washing Machine maintenance training were imparted to 10 staff members of College of Arts and Science (Aided) on 26.02.2019.
  9. Refrigeration and Washing Machine maintenance training were imparted to 3 staff members of College of Arts and Science (Aided) on 27.02.2019.
  10. Refrigeration and Washing Machine maintenance training were imparted to 6 staff members of College of Arts and Science (SF) on 04.03.2019.
  11. Refrigeration and Washing Machine maintenance training were imparted to 6 staff members of College of Arts and Science (Aided) on 06.03.2019.
  12. Two wheeler Servicing training were imparted to 29 students of DDU- Kaushal Kendra, III Year, B.Voc (Production Technology), Students on 13.10.2018 and 10.11.2018.
  13. Two wheeler Servicing training were imparted to 17 students of DDU- Kaushal Kendra, B.Voc (TEED), Students on 23.02.2019.
  14. Two wheeler Servicing training were imparted to 18 students of DDU- Kaushal Kendra, III Year B.Voc (TEED), Students on 17.08.2019.
  15. Two wheeler Servicing training were imparted to 16 students of Polytechnic College and  18 students of College of Arts and Science, from 09.09.2019 to 13.09.2019.
  16. Two wheeler Servicing training were imparted to 12 students of Polytechnic College  from 16.09.2019 to 20.09.2019.
  17. Home Appliances training were imparted to 7 Students of Polytechnic College and 1 student of College of Arts and Science (SF) from 16.09.2019 to 20.09.2019.
  18. Nutrition Garden training was conducted to 16 Residents of Vidyalaya Quarters  from 01.08.2019 to 03.08.2019. Seeds and Seeding’s were distributed to them to develop their own kitchen garden.
  19. Nutrition Garden training was conducted to 19 teachers of Swami Sivananda Higher Secondary School on 30.10.2019. This had enabled them to grow nutritious vegetables utilizing the water, which they waste.
  20. Tailoring training under the sponsorship of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited, was imparted to 6 intellectually challenged girl students, who visit our RKMVERI – FDMSE therapy units. From 01.08.2018 to 31.10.2018.
  21. Tailoring training under the sponsorship of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited, was imparted to 250 rural women in 7 different extension centres of Vidyalaya from 01.08.2018 to 31.10.2018 & 04.01.2019 to 31.03.2019.
  22. Welding training through Welding Simulator training was conducted to 19 Students of Sri Ranganathar Polytechnic College, Athipalyam, Coimbatore on 14.09.2019.
  23. Welding training through Welding Simulator training was conducted to 21 Students of Nanjaya Lingammal Industrial Training Institute, Mettupalayam on 20.09.2019.
