125th year celebration of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago address Report of State level workshop on Traditional sports, Games and physical cultures- 2018
As a part of 125th year celebration of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago address, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational & Research Institute, Faculty of General & Adapted Physical Education and Yoga organised State level workshop on Traditional sports, Games and physical cultures from 25th to 26thSeptember 2018. Registration for the workshop began at 09.30 am. The registered participants assembled in GKD auditorium of the Vidyalaya at 10.00 am.
Inaugural function took place at 10.30 pm on 25th September. Function started with prayer by Mr.Aravindhaksan bagavather from Vidyalaya.
Revered Swami Garishthananda Maharaj Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya & Administrative head Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational & Research Institute, Coimbatore presided over the inaugural function. Revered Swami Divyaprajnananda Maharaj, Assistant Administrative Head, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational & Research Institute graced the occasion. Dr. N. Muthaiah, Dean Faculty of Disability Management delivered chief guest address. Dr. S. Alagesan Professor & Head, Faculty of General and Adapted Physical Education and Yoga, delivered the welcome address and Dr. P. Senthilkumar Assistant Professor, Faculty of General and Adapted Physical Education convener spoke about the theme of the workshop.

Valedictory function took place at 04.00 pm on 26th September2018. Function started with prayer by Mr.Aravindhaksan bagavather from Vidyalaya.
Dr. M. N. G. Mani Chief Executive Officer International Council for the Education of people with visual Impairment was the chief guest. Dr. S. Alagesan, Professor & Head, Faculty of General and Adapted Physical Education and Yoga, delivered the welcome address.
Revered Swami Divyaprajnananda Maharaj presided over the function and distributed the certificates and mementoes to the Delegates and students.
Dr. P. Senthil Kumar, Assistant Professor, Faculty of General and Adapted Physical Education and Yoga proposed vote of thanks.
The Valedictory function was concluded by National anthem.
