State Level Tournaments in Adapted Sports (RKMV Trophy)

Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Faculty of General & Adapted Physical Education and Yoga (GAPEY), Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Campus organized “STATE LEVEL TOURNAMENTS IN ADAPTED SPORTS (RKMV TROPHY)” for Persons with Disabilities on 14 & 15 August, 2023.

This tournament for persons with disabilities was organized under eight categories namely

  • Cricket for Visually Impaired
  • Kabaddi for Hearing Impaired
  • Volleyball for Visually Impaired
  • Football for Intellectually Challenged
  • Wheelchair Badminton
  • Wheelchair Table Tennis

Swami Atmaghananandaji Maharaj, Ramakrishna Math, Puducherry, Swami Apavarganandaji Maharaj, Editor, Sri Ramakrishna Vijayam, Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, Sri A. Arivarasu, Chairman, Gudalur Municipality, Coimbatore, Sri CA K. Ravi, CFO, Roots Group of Industries, Coimbatore were the dignitaries who graced the Inaugural function and flagged of the events.
A total of 61 teams consisting of 529 Persons with Disabilities participated from 25 district of Tamil Nadu. Monks, Heads of Vidyalaya Institutions inaugurated all the matches conducted on these both days and motivated the players.

In the Valedictory Function Swami Bhaktikamanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Coimbatore, Rtn. K. Palaniappan, Former President, Rtn. CA M. Bhaskar, and Rtn CJ Narayanan, President, Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis were the dignitaries who distributed the Trophies, Certificates, Medals and Cash Prizes to the Winners.

Children with special needs of Faculty of Disability Management and Special Education, RKMVERI were honored by giving them the opportunity to medal the winning teams.
