Two Day Teachers’ Convention

Introduction

Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education has initiated organising a series of two day Teachers’ Convention for teachers from grass roots level to higher education on 26.08.2022 aiming to develop overall personality of teachers by providing value based educational training.

Swami Vivekananda said that “We want the education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand on one’s own feet.” It is only with proper education that such knowledge gets transformed into a means for all-round development of human beings. Since Teachers play a vital role in imparting education and shaping the life of students, their role cannot be overlooked as they contribute maximum towards development of an individual and society. They are the strongest pillars of society and should be encouraged and empowered. Empowering them with right knowledge, skills, competence, attitude and value would enable them to meet the demanding and challenging needs of the ever changing society.  Following the words of Swami Vivekananda on education, Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education has instigated this series of Teachers’ Convention to facilitate teachers to strengthen their mind, expand their intellect and inculcate value based character, that could be transferred to nurture their students as well.

The two day programme includes value based lecture sessions, interactive and observational learning sessions.

In the value based sessions, lectures on ‘Ethics from Ramayana and Mahabharata’, and ‘Swami Vivekananda on Role of a Teacher’ are being delivered by revered Swamijis in Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya that facilitates value realisation among the teachers.  In the interactive sessions the teachers are being trained with incorporating Active Learning Methods, ICT based Augmented Reality and Virtual reality in Teaching and other innovative teaching learning strategies. Also awareness programme on Cyber Security, its challenges and solutions are provided to the teacher participants.

In the observational session the teacher participants are provided opportunity to visit and observe the Indian Cultural Heritage Exhibition to recognise our culture, and contribution of freedom fighters in Indian freedom struggle. Also they can realise the importance of inclusive education by visiting and observing institutions for Special Education and Adapted Sports in Vidyalaya campus.
