National Youth Day & Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebration : Photo Gallery

The Twelfth of January, birthday of Swami Vivekananda, is celebrated as National Youth Day all over India as a tribute and honour to the teachings of the great patriotic monk.

Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, organised various events on this occasion with due solemnity and by maintaining the COVID appropriate protocols.

Morning:
Arati was performed in the Swami Vivekananda Park which was followed by singing of devotional songs. Four school students recited inspirational quotes of Swami Vivekananda. The event concluded with an oath to faithfully serve our motherland and consider all beings as equal.

220 students, 129 staff members and 60 devotees participated in this event.

Afternoon:
The Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science organized an online event – ‘Students’ talk on Swami Vivekananda’, in which ten students talkedon the important message of Swami Vivekananda referring to the books ‘Chicago Address’ and ‘Lectures from Colombo to Almora’.

Dr R.Thangavel, Principal, delivered the Welcome Address, Swami Nirmaleshananda, Secretary of the college, delivered the Benedictory Addressand Dr.K.Kandappan, Dean, Student Support Services, delivered the Vote of Thanks.

100 Students and 45 Faculties attended the event.

Evening:
The evening programme commenced by prayer and Welcome Address by Swami Nirmaleshananda. He highlighted the important aspects of National Youth Day. A special address was delivered by Sri. Illairaja, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh.

With a request from Ms. M Kareena, Deputy Director, Field Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India, Coimbatore a poster on ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was released by Swami Garishthananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya. She also spoke on the importance of National Youth Day.

Sri. S R Chandrasekhar, Field Publicity Officer,Field Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India, Coimbatore gave a short talk on National Youth Day.

Owing to the COVID pandemic, this event was organized in a blended mode in which, 319 students and 60 staff members physically participated and 1361 students, along with their parents, participated online.

A day long online quiz on the Life of Swami Vivekananda was also organized in which 2958 people participated.
